Home page footer
Updated the home page content date and removed the footer photograph credit line.
Publication date and a brief record of what has been added or changed on this site since launch.
Site creation: — first published. Entries below are in reverse chronological order (newest first).
Updated the home page content date and removed the footer photograph credit line.
Added War: a human-centred study of the Second World War’s causes, aftermath, and long consequences, plus a closing section on whether war is ever worth the cost and what might help humanity choose peace instead. Four in-depth sections with photographs, matching the usual A–Z topic layout. New topic card on a2zhelp.html — information only, not political or military advice.
Routing and setup flow on the server has been updated so visitors landing on the secondary web address now reach site pages directly while the primary address is being brought back online. No content was changed.
Several behind-the-scenes improvements were made so that public pages are easier to find and look better when shared.
Across the site, the footer dedication line now turns the words grandson Bhodi into a link to his dedicated page at Bhodi.html. The change appears on the home page, the A–Z help index and topic pages, the contact pages, and this updates page, so visitors can reach Bhodi’s page from any footer in one click. The link inherits the dedication’s gold tone so it blends in with the surrounding text, and only changes to a slightly softer shade after it has been clicked. The page generator template was updated too, so future regenerated topic pages keep the link.
This site is reachable at two web addresses. Its primary, canonical address remains onefortheroadmap.co.uk; the same content is also served from www.onefortheroadmap.co.uk/wer1/, which the server automatically redirects to the canonical address. Either URL will get you to the same pages, so existing bookmarks continue to work either way.
A new countdown page at the onefortheroadmap.co.uk domain root shows time left until 24 June 2026, 18:00 (UK), with a beach background video, readable text over the image, an approximate visit counter, and support contact. A first-load display glitch was fixed so background wording no longer flashes before styles load.
Topic pages now include a small anchor point just above each heading so that when you choose a match from the helplist search box, the page scrolls to a readable position (with space below the fixed top bar). The search index includes headings from level 1 through 6. Stylesheet cache-bust was bumped so visitors pick up the new scroll behaviour.
Several images.unsplash.com links had stopped resolving, so hero and section photos on the
Police and Bhagavad Gita pages (and a few other topic pages) could appear blank. Each was replaced with a
working Unsplash image. A small scripts/check_unsplash_urls.py helper can re-check links after
future edits.
Helplist search styles, topic-only tweaks (for example Money, Police, Education, Coding), and the internal
podcast link table styling were moved into styles-index2.css. Inline <style>
blocks were removed from HTML pages. Stylesheet links use a cache-busting query (?v=6) so
visitors pick up the new file after deploy.
A small script under scripts/ was added to confirm internal href targets point to
files in this project (with index.php allowed as the live host entry). Top-of-file comments
were updated for setup, legacy, and internal-only pages to say which are not the main “finished” public
experience.
HTML comments were added at the start of public pages and before major blocks (for example the header and main content) to explain, in plain language, how the site is structured and what each part is for. This is for people editing the files; it does not change the visible text on the site.
The “One For The Roadmap” logo in the top bar (every page that uses the shared header, including A–Z helplist) is scaled up by about 20% on desktop and mobile so it lines up better with the navigation.
The extra line of copy about PHP and local file viewing was removed from the visitor summary area; the counts and the short explanation of how they work remain when the stats service responds.
The short line encouraging people to read the Updates page is no longer under the main menu. It now sits in the home page strip with the visitor summary, so the header stays a single clean bar. Contrast for that text uses the same light panel and dark type as the counts.
Updates (changelog) is linked from the compact site header next to
Contact and A–Z help on the home page, helplist, contact page, and
other main layouts, and from topic pages under a2z/ with the correct relative path to
updates.html.
Added a long-form summary page on the Bhagavad Gita (duty, Karma-Yoga, devotion, knowledge, cosmology — study notes). It appears in the Religion topic picker on every Religion subpage, as a visual card on A–Z helplist, in structured data for topics, and in the heading search index — information only, not religious instruction.
The home page stats line now shows unique visitors today and an
all-time total, using the server script at
api/site-stats.php (PHP). A new visit is registered at most once per
public network address per calendar day (UK time), using a hashed placeholder instead of storing full addresses, and
many common automated clients are excluded. An approximate “viewing now” line is unchanged. Per-day history is
saved on the host for reference.
Added Whitley Strieber — The Key: study notes from audio on the “Master of the Key” encounter, radiant-body theory, secrecy framing, and related themes (information only — claims reported as in the source). New topic card on a2zhelp.html, JSON-LD list entry, and search index headings.
Added Meditation to the topic grid on a2zhelp.html, with an overview page and a mindful meditation guide derived from audio notes (posture, visualization, compassion, grounding). JSON-LD and the heading search index include the new pages.
Added Tolstoy’s Gospel
(religion-tolstoys-gospel.html): study notes on Leo Tolstoy’s Gospel harmony (twelve-chapter scheme,
Lord’s Prayer structure, ethics, passion narrative), with tables and quotations for students. Linked from the
Religion hub and included in the religious topics dropdown on every Religion subpage.
Added Sound, Light & Frequency — a guide to the UFO/Hollywood podcast hosted by Bryce Zabel and Brent Friedman (Dark Skies), with themes, timelines, listen links, and linked resources. The entry appears in the Podcasts topic dropdown on every podcast page alongside existing shows.
The home page now shows a short stats line: total
page views for index.html (incremented once per load when the script can
reach the server) and an approximate viewing now count based on recent browser “pings”
(people with the home page open in the last minute or so). This needs
api/site-stats.php and the
api/data/ folder on the host; local file:// previews show an em dash until PHP
is available.
Added two new A–Z help pages and topic cards on a2zhelp.html. The Police page covers local crime awareness in plain language, centres an OpenStreetMap embed on the visitor’s location (or Liverpool, UK, when location is not available), and where applicable summarises open street-level data from data.police.uk (England and Wales). The Gateway page is a readable introduction to Gateway-style practice and the Monroe Institute, with a direct link to monroeinstitute.org. The A–Z heading search index was rebuilt so these pages are included in helplist search.
Server routing was adjusted so encrypted connections are required only when visitors use the public site
hostname from the public internet; local development under WAMP (including hosts-file mappings and loopback
requests) can stay on plain HTTP without being redirected. A sample Apache vhost fragment was added for WAMP
(wamp-http-vhost.example.conf) when AllowOverride must be enabled for
.htaccess.
The visual site home formerly published as index2.html now lives at index.html. Navigation and footer links across the site point to index.html; index2.html redirects to index.html so older bookmarks continue to work.
Added a Coding help topic page with curated links to independent learning resources, plus a Coding card on the A–Z helplist grid. Added a search box on the helplist so visitors can find topics and sections faster by typing words that appear in page headings. Search tokenisation was refined so hyphenated queries and Money / MoneySavingExpert-related phrases resolve to the Money topic reliably.
The active A–Z topic set was streamlined during this content pass to focus on a smaller group of pages at a time, improving consistency and clarity across updated topics.
The Money topic card is now restored in the live helplist grid with direct access to a2z/money.html.
Podcast pages were updated with direct YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts links where available, and podcast dropdown lists were reorganised alphabetically for easier browsing.
Added and expanded Money page coverage with MoneySavingExpert.com plus dedicated sections for GamCare, Turn2us, and FoodCycle.
Content was reordered and refined with updated imagery and clearer guidance so support options are easier to understand and use.
Temporary maintenance-route behavior was tightened so non-matching visitors are redirected away from internal maintenance endpoints.
Updated podcast topic labels across all podcast pages so each dropdown item now includes the related featured episode heading, making topic selection clearer and more consistent.
Added AREA52 - DEBRIEFED — Bob Lazar Tells Me Everything (Ep. 83) to every podcast topic dropdown and created a dedicated page with heading, Spotify link, image, and a short episode summary.
Updated every podcast topic dropdown option for Strange and Unexplained so the full episode title appears consistently across all podcast pages.
Added Strange and Unexplained to the Podcasts topic dropdown (and synced the same option across all podcast sub-pages), with a dedicated page for the Spotify episode Bob Lazar Validates Logan Paul's Shocking UFO Video.
Added a dedicated cronjobs task runner that creates a full-site ZIP backup before weekly media
refresh execution and writes run logs.
Added a new automation workflow for scheduled image refreshes with metadata updates:
scripts/weekly_media_refresh.py plus
scripts/weekly-media-refresh.config.json. The flow supports curated image pools per page slot,
updates page freshness dates when content rotates, and can update sitemap last-modified dates for changed pages.
Updated the footer dedication text across all public pages to read
My son & daughter Shaun, Louise and grandkids for consistent wording everywhere.
Updated contactFromSetup.html flow and navigation behavior for setup-stage visitors.
Replaced the temporary boxed gateway on contactFromSetup.html with a full contact-page layout
so users entering from index.php now see a complete page on mobile and desktop, including
contact details and normal page navigation.
Added official social links to all public page footers, including X (Twitter) and Instagram.
Added Helping Others as a new A–Z topic, linked it from the A–Z helplist, and added a matching Helping Others section to index.html. Content focuses on kindness, trust, and the ripple effect of helping others in families and communities.
Updated landing flow by expanding index.php with the full core message beneath the countdown,
simplifying contactFromSetup.html to a single return link, and refreshing SEO metadata,
robots.txt, and sitemap.xml.
Adjusted the setup hotspot behavior and related user messaging for clearer handling during setup access flow.
A custom "Coming Soon" landing page has been built into index.php,
replacing the hosting provider's default Website Builder page. The page features a
dramatic mountain background photograph, a live countdown timer, warm
gold-to-coral-to-purple gradient typography, frosted-glass countdown cards, and a
twinkling star animation — all fully self-contained and editable. The design is
responsive across desktop, laptop, and mobile viewports.
A dedicated contact page (contactFromSetup.html) has been created for
the Coming Soon state, with the same mountain-backdrop styling, larger accessible
text sizes, and navigation that links back to the Coming Soon page rather than the
main site. The robots.txt has been updated to limit crawler access
except on index.php, contact.html, and
contactFromSetup.html.
A custom site icon has been created and added as the favicon across all 30 pages.
The design features people linked together in a circle surrounding a handshake at the centre,
symbolising unity — everyone coming together to act as one. The colour palette matches the
site's existing gold-to-teal gradient. The icon file is located at
img/weareall1-icon2.ico.
Each podcast sub-page now includes a featured episode section with the episode title, a direct YouTube link, a descriptive summary, and a responsive embedded YouTube player. Episodes featured:
The Ancients — Alexander the Great;
Bledsoe Said So — Episode 22: The First Interview;
Unknown Country — The Aliens Are Based Underwater;
The Joe Rogan Experience — JRE #1169 with Elon Musk (all-time most viewed podcast episode).
CSS for responsive 16:9 embed wrapper added to styles-index2.css.
The Podcasts page now has a "Podcast Topics" dropdown (matching the pattern used by the Religion page) linking to four new sub-topic pages: The Ancients, Bledsoe Said So, Unknown Country, and The Joe Rogan Experience. Each sub-page includes a hero, the dropdown navigator, a split section, and an overview article.
The Equality topic card on the A–Z helplist grid and the Equality & Humanity page itself (title, hero headline, meta description, Open Graph, and Twitter card) now all read Equality & Humanity, with the hero sub-line updated to Dignity for all.
Added Podcasts as a new A–Z topic. Includes a hero banner and three split sections: listening, diversity of voices, and creating your own podcast. The card appears on the A–Z helplist grid and the JSON-LD item count updated to 19.
The hero banner headline on every A–Z topic page, plus index.html and a2zhelp.html, now uses consistent title casing (e.g. Community · We Rise Together, Health · Care For The Whole Person).
The A–Z help helplist was made directly visible for visitors without extra entry steps.
Updated the A–Z help entry form text and helper hint copy for clarity.
Expanded the main Contact card with a note that the site is a work in progress, an invitation to email topic or content updates to support@onefortheroadmap.co.uk, and a thank-you for patience while replies are prepared. The duplicate A–Z helplist block (topic list and grid button) was later removed from the contact page; use a2zhelp.html or the site footer for the helplist.
Expanded meta descriptions and keywords (brand spellings: onefortheroadmap.co.uk, OneForTheRoadmap.co.uk,
www) on index.html, a2zhelp.html,
contact.html, legal pages, and every A–Z topic page; added Open Graph and
Twitter cards where missing; set absolute canonical URLs to
https://onefortheroadmap.co.uk/wer1/… across public HTML. The helplist now includes JSON-LD
ItemList of all topics. Added robots.txt and sitemap.xml at the
site root (submit the sitemap in Google Search Console after upload).
Buddhism,
Gnostic Texts,
Pistis Sophia, and
Religion (general) now use a compact
hero-visual--religion-sub banner plus a split image section with short
contextual copy. Photographs are from Unsplash with credits; copy clarifies that images are illustrative,
not archival claims. Added CSS for the shorter hero height.
Split sections (image + text rows on the home page and every A–Z topic page, including
Religion) now use the same horizontal inset as
.wrap: 1rem on larger viewports and 2.25rem on narrow screens, plus
safe-area insets. Previously only the text column had extra padding on small screens, so images could sit
flush to the viewport edge; the whole grid is inset together. The small-screen rule that reset split padding
at 479px was updated so it no longer removed those side gutters. Back-button areas on topic
pages use the same wider mobile gutters. Religion subpages already relied on .wrap narrow for
copy; the main fix is the shared .split styles.
Brought the rest of the site in line with the cleaned-up
index.html treatment: two-column Reflect block now
top-aligns like Split sections (no odd vertical centring next to tall copy).
Added min-width: 0 on split text/figures, reflect columns, dual-image strip figures, and
A–Z helplist grid items so images and cards don’t overflow narrow viewports. The helplist topic grid
uses a safer minmax min track; the Contact page topic list uses
two columns from medium widths for easier scanning. All A–Z topic pages inherit these shared
styles-index2.css rules — no per-page HTML edits were required for splits.
The Religion A–Z page now includes a mobile-friendly
Religious Topics menu (alphabetical: Buddhism, Gnostic Texts, Pistis Sophia, Religion)
linking to new template pages:
Buddhism,
Gnostic Texts,
Pistis Sophia, and
Religion (general). Styling and
js/religion-topic-nav.js support the native select for reliable touch use.
Renamed js/topic-edition.js to js/a2z-back.js (same behaviour: the
Back control uses browser history when possible, otherwise navigates to
a2zhelp.html). The Contact page now lists every
topic with quick links plus a button to the full photo grid on the helplist.
Removed index3.html (text-first home). The main site home and logo target is now
index.html everywhere. Footers use a single Home link; redundant
“Text focus” / “Text edition” / “With images” nav links were dropped where they duplicated the same page.
index.html redirects here.
Removed separate text-only topic pages and *-visual.html URLs: each topic is now a single
a2z/<topic>.html file with photographs and short sections. a2zhelp.html
is the only A–Z hub (photo grid). “Text focus” / “With images” toggles on topic and helplist headers are
removed, as are links that only existed for that switch. js/a2z-back.js handles
Back on topic and helplist pages. index.html links to the
helplist and was the main visual home; the separate text-first home page was later removed (see newest entry).
On the home pages, the “Text focus” / “With images” control became a styled link instead of a native
<button>. The helplist
briefly used the same pattern before the helplist and topics were unified into visual-only pages (see entry
above).
Added Parenthood to the A–Z helplist (text and visual): new
a2z/parenthood.html (later merged into one visual page per topic). Linked from
a2zhelp.html. Replaced
broken Unsplash image URLs on the visual page (404 responses) with working photos and credits. The project
rule .cursor/rules/updates-changelog-prompt.mdc now requires updating this
page after substantive site work, not only when asked.
First version of the project rule: after substantive site changes, the assistant would ask before editing updates.html. Later superseded by a rule that requires a changelog entry after substantive work unless the fix is trivial.
Tuned index.html for typical
PageSpeed Insights goals: preconnect to
images.unsplash.com, preload for the hero image (LCP) and
main CSS, non-blocking Google Fonts (preload + onload stylesheet swap with
noscript fallback), and decoding="async" on below-the-fold images. Re-run
the live PageSpeed test after deploy; scores vary by network and caching.
Expanded search-related metadata on the home page (index.html): canonical and Open Graph URLs now use
https://onefortheroadmap.co.uk/wer1/ with the file path; added a
keywords meta tag covering common spellings and phrases (such as “We Are All One”, “we are
all 1”, “we are 1”); refined meta descriptions to name the official domain; and structured data
(application/ld+json) now includes a WebSite entry with
alternateName variants linked to the site URL. Search engines do not guarantee ranking for
specific queries, but this clarifies the brand and preferred domain for indexing.
At the bottom of each A–Z topic page (text and “with images”), the separate links for “Open this topic with
images” and “Back to text-only …” were replaced by one Back button. It uses the browser’s
history so you return to the page you came from (for example the helplist or another topic). The same
pattern applies on the helplist page. Wired in js/a2z-back.js with styling in
styles-index2.css; the topic page generator was updated to match.
Replaced Unsplash links that no longer loaded for Education and History (hero and visual helplist tiles) so those images display again. Updated Money “with images” photography so the hero and sections match money and everyday spending, and verified each image URL returns successfully.
Added a visual helplist (hero and photo tile grid per topic), later rolled into the single a2zhelp.html. The visual home page (index.html) points to this hub.
Earlier experiment: topic links could remember a text vs “with images” preference. That behaviour was
removed when each topic became a single page; js/a2z-back.js now only powers the
Back button fallback described in newer entries.
Added this page to list the launch date and a running summary of major additions and changes, so visitors can see how the site has grown after first publication.
Expanded A–Z topics with full text articles and optional companion pages that include photographs. Each topic page uses a single control to switch between the text-only and image versions for that topic.
Introduced the A–Z helplist hub (a2zhelp.html) and dedicated pages under
a2z/ for community, compassion, education, environment, equality, forgiveness, health,
history, money, peace, psychology, purpose, and religion — each linked from the helplist.
On the main text and visual home pages, combined the “Text focus” and “With images” choices into one switchable button that jumps to the other edition. Extended similar behaviour for topic pages where applicable.
First publication of One For The Roadmap: main home (index.html), contact page with support email, privacy and terms of use, redirect index.html, shared styling, and footer credits including first published date.
